The Bass Strait Maritime Centre has a range of gifts for the ‘Maritime Mother’ in your life. This Mothers Day give your mum a gift or gift voucher from the Centre or an annual Bass Strait Maritime Centre membership. The Café is also a great option to treat your Mum to brunch, coffee or lunch.
This has to be the perfect time to introduce your family and friends to the new Centre. There is plenty to interest all ages – captaining the SS Woniora, a simulated experience where you take control of the 1910’s steamer; exploring the Centre; taking a 2 hour sail on the Julie Burgess ketch out into Bass Strait or relaxing on the deck of the café and taking in the maritime scenery.
The Navy Room : a new exhibition This exhibition opened on 25 April 2013 as part of our community’s Anzac Day activities. It commemorates four Tasmanians and unfolds the surprising story of war in Bass Strait. It also features a historic framed photograph of the HMAS Australia, and a 200 year old American Sloop-of-War, a proud piece in the Centre’s significant model collection.
Yay we made it!!!!!
